Pleasantview, The Broke Family, Part 3

This week is the Brokes. The kids have grown a little bit since we last saw them. This is Beau, hanging out with Alexander Goth (or at least, he’s in the same room) at the local arcade while his mom is at work.

Dustin actually has a job watering plants at the science center, but his job performance is very low. He and Lilith are still an item.

Brandi has also given birth to her last son with Skip, another son called Felix.

Things haven’t gotten any easier for Brandi. Now that there are three boys in the house, grocery bills just keep going on. She’s only a spice runner in the culinary career (level 2), so her pay is still low. Here she’s had to run to the grocery store after her shift. Luckily it’s open 24/7.

And yes, that’s a pregnancy bump. Brandi had finally gotten back into dating, and, well, accidents happen.

“Hey Jim! I’m off work! Would you like to come over and have dinner? No? Oh… okay. I see. Yes I understand, work to do. Okay, well maybe another time?”

Looks like it’s stu surprise for dinner, again.

Things are picking up exactly where they left off last time – a clogged toilet,

A broken computer.

And just for good measure, the tub.

Beau forgot to put away the leftovers last night after dinner, so now several good meals have to be thrown out. Such a waste.

Her landlord, Daniel Pleasant, wouldn’t be able to come by to fix anything for several days, so Brandi hoped she could get things in working order until then. So many of their things, like the computer, weren’t covered under their renters agreement, so that would likely have to wait.

Brandi’s long work hours meant she missed Beau’s badging ceremony at school, but at least Dustin was able to do.

Late one night, while the whole family is asleep, a thief breaks in and steals their bathtub! Brandi really has the worst luck.

Gordon King, the burglar, walked right into her room and stole a painting – one of the few extras Brandi had.

And the police didn’t make it in time to catch him.

With the kids needing baths before school and no time for anything else, Dustin and Beau had to go across the street to the gym to clean up.

They weren’t free to use, but it was really the only option besides going to school smelly, and getting made fun of.

Brandi’s friend, Dina Caliente offered to take her out to lunch one day, to cheer her up.

“Dina, everything keeps falling apart! Everything is broken and I don’t have the money to replace or fix it, and rent is due soon! Beau had to take a shower at the gym this morning because a thief stole our BATHTUB!”

“Brandi, I know that must be so hard. You’re a great mom and you’re doing the best you can.

Hey, you know, I have an idea how about a pretty easy way you could make some money…”

“Awe, c’mon Brandi. You could make a TON of money, and you already have everything you need!”

“Dina, I am NOT going to do that. You’ve cornered the market, and that just isn’t for me. Skip would be so disappointed in me anyway.”

“Oh Brandi. Skip is dead. And you are broke.”

That night at work proved to be a busy one, but Brandi was up to the challenge and her boss even mentioned a promotion might be in here future when something happened that could derail all of it.
