Pleasantview, The Burb Family, Part 2

Introducing little Griselda Burb, the second daughter and child of John and Jennifer! So far all we know about her is she is excitable and a heavy sleeper.

John is soaking up his time with her while he is on parole. He’s gotten into trouble with the law a few too many times, and if it happens again, he’s got to go away for a long, long time.

Despite his legal troubles, Jennifer and John are both still madly in love.

Lucy is still the same bright tomboy she was earlier. She’s recently decided she wants to become an astronaut.

Jennifer has nearly maxed out her guitar skill.

And is progressing in two more.

Lucy has been spending a lot of time with another girl from the neighborhood, Sophie Miguel.

Lucy has also gotten a job delivering the paper, so every morning she’s up before dawn. A brisk exercise routine before she heads out wakes her up and keeps her fit and ready for the day.

One morning, though, instead of heading to work like normal, Lucy played hooky. She didn’t really know why – it was an impulse decision, but it came back to bite her badly. She was arrested for breaking curfew and did not have a reason to be out if she wasn’t going to be at work. The police wanted to pin some graffiti on her, too, even though she was innocent.

Lucy’s parents grounded her for skipping work, but they didn’t have the heart to keep her best friend, Sophie, away.

Sophie had been over so many times, but something about this visit was different. Maybe Lucy was feeling upset and a little more vulnerable because of having gotten into trouble. Maybe it wasn’t even that she had gotten into trouble, but had just had an error in judgement about sneaking out the night before. It was usually so unlike Lucy to do something so brazen. She was so nervous about having to pay a fine or have something on her record for the graffiti she didn’t to. Sophie listened, Sophie understood.

Looking back, Lucy thought it was probably silly that she was so slow to realize her feelings and act on them, but it was understandable, considering.

So when she leaned forward for a frightened, tentative kiss, she would have known not to be so afraid.

Because Sophie felt the same way, too.

Sophie was completely awash with relief, and at the same time, trepidation. What a whole new world she had just walked into!

John was happy for Lucy, but at present, a little more focused on the immediate needs of Griselda, who grew bigger and more able every single day.

John knew he was lucky, and he tried to soak up his time at home. His job wasn’t exactly legal, and if he ever get caught, there was a chance he’d be put away for life.

Sophie has agreed to be Lucy’s girlfriend and make their relationship public!

John got a promotion! He is now a getaway driver. He still has to take the carpool to work for some reason though.

Something has gotten into Jennifer lately. She has gone woohoo crazy. She pesters John about it when he’s home, and when he’s not, she’s cyber woohooing random people on the internet. Hopefully this is a phase and she moves past it soon, before it causes trouble for her and John.

By Sunday, there were no problems between Jennifer and John. She has been slowly working on her music skills, but no promotion this week.
